Vacations
Per the Illinois School code, removing a child from school for the purpose of taking a family vacation is not a "valid cause" for absence. Therefore, teachers will not be responsible for preparing assignments prior to the vacation, and all make-up work must be completed within five (5) school days of the student’s return.
Homework
Your child will be responsible for reading to/with an adult for 20 minutes every night and recording it on their monthly reading logs. Reading logs are located in the front of your child's agenda. I will check reading logs weekly, if not daily, to monitor completion of this assignment given. Reading log completion will be your child's only grade for "Home Practice" on their report card.
Your child should practice addition and subtraction math facts to 12 weekly for quicker identification.
Sight words will go home at the beginning of each unit. A test will be given on Friday over the assigned words for the week, so please review the words at home.
